The design village that explores the new frontiers of design

Superstudio Village, the new hub dedicated to emerging creativity and social design

Superstudio Village is the most recent and technologically advanced venue, set to open in 2026 with SuperPlayground. The program was entirely dedicated to young designers, emerging studios, and collectives who, through their proposals, are redefining the new boundaries of design. With an experimental curatorial vision, the location was conceived as a veritable “design village” 

The venue, conceived as a veritable “design village”, hosted talks, workshops and immersive installations, accompanied by performances and music. The project explored design as a cultural and social process, highlighting graphic design, sustainability, contemporary craftsmanship and collaborations between designers and communities.

SuperPlayground lights up the evenings of Design Week at Superstudio Village

 

From 7:00 PM to 11:00 PM music shapes the evenings at the Village: a moment to pause, have a drink, and experience the space through sound and atmosphere.

A selection of house, deep house e disco sets the rhythm, allowing guests to move freely between installations, encounters and more informal moments.

The Design Village

THE CONCEPT DEDICATED TO TALENT AND INNOVATIVE DESIGN

Within the Village, following an international open call, Superstudio has selected 33 projects from over 200 submissions from more than 30 countries. Emerging designers, studios and collectives presented research ranging from material experimentation to social design, from technological innovation to dialogue between different cultures. This offered a tangible opportunity to engage with an international audience and establish a presence within the main circuits of Milan Design Week. Alongside the exhibition projects, the itinerary was enriched by an immersive installation conceived and created through the reuse of three hot-air balloons.

Alongside the exhibition projects, one of the highlights of the space was the immersive installation "Keep Your Bubble" by Slovakian visual artist Lousy Auber, which enrichesìd the exhibition with a reflection on the themes of transformation and reuse. This soft temporary architecture was made from fabrics from recycled hot air balloons and invited the public to enter and explore the relationship between the personal and collective dimensions.

Brands, exhibitions, installations and graphic design thus came together in a collective narrative of the contemporary creative landscape, where ideas, languages and experimentation intertwined to form a dynamic, international ecosystem.

Located in the Bovisa district, Superstudio Village is the newest event space, covering over 8,000 square meters and meeting the highest sustainability standards in Europe.

Currently undergoing LEED and ISO 20121 certification, the venue integrates new-generation energy systems, establishing itself as the new experimental hub of Milan Design Week.
