Ripplefold appendiabiti

Designer

Ivana Jelic Katic

A sculptural coat stand that channels the rhythm of draped fabric into functional, calming form. The coat stand is conceived as a suspended drape translated into metal, capturing the rhythm and fluidity of falling fabric. Made from a single sheet of aluminum, the object is defined by wavy cuttings along its top edge that develop into deep vertical corrugations with integrated hooks. These rhythmic curves guide garments as they are placed, naturally channeling the way fabric falls between them and extending the draped logic of the form into everyday use. Inspired by ripple-fold curtains, their sculptural repetition, shifting shadows and visual softness, the piece transforms textile movement into a stable, architectural object. Powder-coated aluminum curved surfaces emphasize its calm presence. Even when empty, the stand remains visually complete, functioning as a sculptural element that quietly occupies space while inviting touch and proximity.
