Ross Lovegrove + Hideo Shimizu

Karbony stages Infinity, a project born from the carbon thread: a structural element and a metaphor for continuity between matter, space, and vision. A thread that, through its weaving, creates light architectures capable of extending beyond the object, generating shadows and new perspectives in space, featuring the extraordinary participation of two guest designers.

Ross Lovegrove brings to Milan two sculptures, GABO 2.0 and STEREOMETRIC METHOD: works that explore kinetic rhythm, energy and depth through light structures, where volume emerges from air and strength manifests without mass. To realise them, the designer chose to collaborate with the craftsmanship of Karbony, whose vocation is to transform complex design ideas into tangible forms. The company’s know-how thus becomes the instrument through which creative ambitions take shape.

Hideo Shimizu presents INFINITY - BIO, a freestanding bathtub conceived as a contemplative space. Rooted in the Japanese tradition of ofuro bunka, bathing becomes a ritual of deep relaxation and quiet regeneration. A Karbony object above casts delicate light and shadow, while carbon walls, inspired by Japanese partitions, filter gaze and light, creating subtle transparencies.
